Annual HPME Student Research Conference

The 2007 conference will be held on Wednesday May 2nd, 2007. The conference title is Lost in Translation? Exploring Knowledge Translation in Health Services.

2007 CONFERENCE SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS

The conference will open up at 7:45am with registration and an Alumni Networking Breakfast, co-hosted by the Society of Graduates in HPME.

The conference plenary will open with brief remarks at 8:45am, followed by an expert panel discussion from 9am - 10:45am. After the mid-morning break , the scientific portion of our conference, concurrent student oral presentations, will follow from 11:15am - 1:00pm. A complimentary luncheon will close the conference.

The traditional afternoon HPME Research Day poster session, keynote, and cocktail reception will follow, from 2:30pm - 7:00pm.

The entire day's events will be held on the 6th and 7th floors of the Health Science Building, 155 College Street.

2007 CONFERENCE PANEL GUESTS

Our Department Chair, Louise Lemieux-Charles, will chair the panel discussion, on the theme of Exploring Knowledge Translation in Health Services. We are pleased to announce that our confirmed panelists are as follows: Dr. Andreas Laupacis (Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute); Jane Brenneman Gibson (Institute of Work and Health); Anu Macintosh-Murray (HPME); and Gloria Cardoso (Deloitte and Touch LLP)

2007 CONFERENCE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION

Students interested in presenting at the 2007 conference should submit an abstract to gsu.hpme@utoronto.ca. The deadline to submit an abstract has been extended to Thursday April 26, 2007.

2006 CONFERENCE

The 2nd Annual HPME Student Research Conference was held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, in conjunction with the annual HPME Department Research Day. The theme for last year's student conference was LHINs: From Rhetoric to Reality and we were pleased to host the event at the new Health Sciences Building.

BREAKFAST. The day opened with a unique opportunity for networking at the inaugural HPME Student-Alumni Networking Breakfast. The HPME GSU Executive would like to thank the HPME Society of Graduates (SOG) for their generous financial contribution to this event.

PANEL. The esteemed guest panel consisted of: Louise Lemieux-Charles (Chair, HPME; panel chair); John Ronson (Courtyard Group); Dr. Alan Hudson (MOHLTC); Elizabeth McIntyre (Cavalluzzo Hayes Shilton McIntyre & Cornish, representing the ONA); Patricia Conrad (CHSRF); and Paul Holyoke (HPME; Waterloo-Wellington LHIN).
